The release of Android 16 is just around the corner — it is scheduled for June and Google Pixel smartphones will predictably be the first to receive a new version of Android. Soon after, Xiaomi will also start rolling out Android 16-based HyperOS updates for its devices.
Unfortunately, a number of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices will not be updated to Android 16, as they have already reached the end of their lifecycle in terms of operating system updates.

If your Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco device is on the list, it is unlikely to receive the Android 16 update. To be precise, this is “unlikely” because the update policy for multiple devices is still unclear.
Even if your device does not receive Android 16, it may still receive several small releases of HyperOS and security patches over a period of time.
