As you know, Xiaomi developers are actively working on the next version of their HyperOS 2.0 software platform, which is already well known, and now we’ll talk about what “chips” the new system will offer for Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices.

Xiaomi Smart Hub
The subtle interconnection between a wide variety of Xiaomi devices is one of the main functions of HyperOS, which involves combining smartphones, tablets and other devices from the manufacturer into one workspace with a shared clipboard and desktop. By some strange coincidence, some devices have it, but some don’t.
Although, judging by user reviews, this feature continues to be delivered to Xiaomi devices with a noticeable delay. For example, on the Poco F6 smartphone, it appeared only with the HyperOS 1.0.3.0 update.

That is, you should not expect the integration of the function on all Xiaomi devices – most likely, it will be the prerogative of the flagship Xiaomi and Poco F-series smartphones, and it may not appear on Redmi devices at all.
Detecting presence on Xiaomi
In the latest updates of Xiaomi HyperOS 1.0, users noticed a rather interesting section of the settings “Active visual perception”, where the presence detection function appeared.
According to the description of this functionality, it will leave the display on regardless of the configured timeout, provided that the user is looking at the screen, although not interacting directly with the device.

At the same time, this function will turn off the screen as soon as the owner moves away from it – the result is a kind of smart sleep mode on Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones.
Contactless gesture control in HyperOS
In the Poco F6 with the HyperOS 1.0.3.0 update, and in the previous Poco F5 model, the function of contactless gestures was noticed – we have already written about this in this article. It allows you to control your smartphone without touching it, just making swings at a distance of 30 to 50 cm from the front camera.
This way, you can switch music tracks, adjust the volume, and receive incoming calls. If all this works correctly, we will get an almost ideal function for the kitchen.

It is not yet known on which models the remote control function will appear, but by and large there is nothing complicated in the implementation of the idea, so Xiaomi’s contactless gestures should receive most smartphones with HyperOS firmware on board.
Wild Boost
Along with the latest HyperOS updates, Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones began to receive updates to the Game Turbo service, a gaming utility that optimizes the device for smoother gaming. Here, users noticed the Wild Boost button, which opens a menu to activate the function of the same name.

In fact, Wild Boost on Xiaomi devices not only speeds up the smartphone, but also improves the touchscreen response for quick taps on the screen. In addition, there is a switch for programmatically enhancing the image in the game.
Improve the quality of photos in the Gallery
The Chinese version of the Gallery app, number 1.7.0.5.1, has a new Xiaomi photo editor feature that allows you to change the quality and size of images to compress the image and reduce its size to save space on your phone.
Soon, this “feature” should appear in the global version of the Gallery application, and owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco flagships will receive other additional artificial intelligence functions in HyperOS.:
- changing the background on a photo
- finishing the photo
- creating an avatar based on existing photos

These features were announced by the company at the presentation of the global version of HyperOS 1.0, but have not yet appeared or at least are not available on all the company’s flagships and not in full. At the same time, the manufacturer promises to release updates with AI even before the release of HyperOS 2.0.
