Company Unisoc, formerly known as Spreadtrum, has introduced its new single-chip Unisoc SC9863A system, which is not particularly powerful. However, all the chips from Unisoc do not shine with their power and are designed for entry-level devices.
The Unisoc SC9863A chipset, which is manufactured using a 28nm process technology, includes four Arm Cortex-A55 cores with an operating frequency of 1.6 GHz, a quartet of Cortex-A55 cores operating at 1.2 GHz, and a PowerVR GE8322 graphics controller with a frequency of 550 MHz.
The whole thing is complemented by a proprietary Cat.7 LTE modem (downloads up to 300 Mbit/s, downloads up to 150 Mbit/s), wireless Wi-Fi modules 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2, and a GPS receiver with support for all global navigation systems.
The Unisoc SC9863A SoC supports displays with a resolution of up to 2160 x 1080 pixels and a frame rate of up to 60 Hz, LPDDR4X RAM up to 4 GB, eMMC 5.1 flash drives, and 16-megapixel cameras.
