Although the HyperOS 2 system allows us to set a fairly low brightness level on our Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco, it is usually not low enough to read in complete darkness, for example, when we are lying in bed before going to sleep.
In addition, it causes users to experience noticeable eye fatigue, which can prevent them from falling asleep and even lead to vision problems.
However, HyperOS 2 on Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco devices has a hidden setting that allows you to set a lower brightness level than that allowed in the system Control Center.
Due to this setting, the brightness can be reduced to a level that is more comfortable for reading at night, reducing eye strain accordingly and saving battery power.
Extra Dimming — hidden brightness level
The setting we’re talking about is called Extra Dimming, and although it’s available through system settings on some specific models, it’s hidden on most Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices.
To activate it, you need to find the MemeOS Enhancer application in the Google Play app store and install it.
Then we launch MemeOS Enhancer and click on the hidden functions icon at the bottom, which looks like a test tube.
In the list of functions that will be displayed, you need to find the Extra Dim item, go to it, where you can activate the switch to further reduce the brightness of the screen, but it is worth noting that not all Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices can turn on this toggle switch.
