The duration of software support for devices is one of the most important factors when buying a smartphone or tablet, and Xiaomi is not particularly pleased with users in this regard. In this article, we will talk about which versions of Android your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco will receive in the future.
The thing is that there is a program like Google’s AER, which we recently wrote about in detail, and all Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices certified in it are listed on the official website, indicating which versions of Android each device will receive and up to what time it will receive Android security patches.
For example, the current flagship Xiaomi 14 will receive Android 15, Android 16, Android 17 and Android 18, and its full software support will completely cease in February 2029.
It is worth noting here that not all Xiaomi smartphones and tablets are AER certified and there is no such information for models missing from this list – it all depends on Xiaomi’s update policy for each brand or line.
P.S. Other useful instructions on how to set up the HyperOS system and use its features on Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices can be found on our website in this section.
