Owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco with HyperOS 2 firmware, when reading books or large articles on the Internet, listening to music or monitoring information updates on network resources in real time, face the problem of gradually reducing the brightness and then turning off the screen of their smartphone or tablet.
However, Xiaomi developers have provided for this “nuisance” and added the appropriate functionality to the HyperOS 2 settings, which they called “Active visual playback”. It detects the users’ attention and adjusts the device lock, limiting the fading and turning off of the display when using it.
To ensure that your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco does not dim or turn off the screen at the most inopportune time, go to Settings – Advanced Settings, where we find the Active Visual Perception item and activate the Presence Detection item in it.
The function on Xiaomi smartphones works by using the front camera and detecting the user’s presence in front of the screen, leaving it on. If the device is removed to the side, the screen will go out.
It is worth noting here that, unfortunately, not all Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices have this feature, and budget smartphone models will not have it by default.
