Many users who have encountered a smartphone for the first time Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco are wondering how to quickly set up HyperOS on Xiaomi so that the device works quickly and at the same time shows good autonomy.

In this regard, we suggest reading the useful instructions for quick system setup HyperOS 2 on Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones, which was recently shared by the author of the Zen channel On Svyazi, for which I thank him very much!

We should immediately note that after following all the recommendations below for optimizing HyperOS 2 on Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco, the smartphone’s autonomy will improve, its functions will not be limited, and its performance will not be lower.

GPS module settings

The importance of GPS settings is difficult to overestimate, but, as a rule, Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco users pay little attention to them.

Open the settings menu and go to LocationGeolocation services.

The search for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks has recently been disabled by default, which is good, but accurate geolocation is enabled.

In addition to GPS data, the smartphone uses data received from Wi-Fi access points, cell towers and other sensors. For those who use the navigator on a daily basis, it will be useful, but if you are not one of them, then you can safely disable it.

The smartphone will be less discharged, because it will stop using additional sensors to determine location.

After this setting, go back to the previous menu and find Application access to geodata.

Once there, turn on the display of system processes and pay attention to the CneApp application, which should be denied access to the location.

This Qualcomm application constantly analyzes networks (Wi-Fi and mobile Internet) in order (as planned) to switch the smartphone to the fastest ones.

But there is one “but” — the possibility of this switch is blocked by Android (the system has separate services for this case), which means that the analysis, which spends a lot of energy, is useless.

Access settings for applications

In the smartphone settings menu, enter Access to usage data, turn on the display of system processes and prohibit access for applications:

  • MSA
  • Analytics
  • TxPwradmin
  • CneApp
  • Reviews about the market
  • Cleaning

All of the listed applications are activated literally with every action on the smartphone. Most of them are needed to analyze user activity, which means that the smartphone runs out faster when they are running. In addition, while the smartphone is idle (for example, at night), data continues to be processed, which also requires energy.

Quick application setup

We are talking about your user applications, as there are too many system applications, besides, we prohibited unnecessary access in the previous paragraph.

First of all, open in the settingsNotifications and status barApplication notifications.

  • Disable notifications from those who should not send them.
  • For those applications that remain, check the types of notifications.

For example, if you click on Google in this menu, you will see several categories that need to be configured at once.

Notifications seem to have little effect on the battery, especially since apps like Google send them infrequently, however, you’d be surprised if you check how much energy is spent checking for notifications in all categories that the user never uses.

Internet and battery settings

In the settings we find Mobile networksactive SIM card (if there are two, then you need to configure both) — Preferred network type. The 5G network is not yet available in Russia, so we are installing Preferably 4G (LTE).

The smartphone will stop looking for the possibility of connecting to fifth-generation networks, which means that the operation of the communication module will be more stable.

Immediately after this setting, go to SettingsBatteryAdditional functionsSave 5G power and turn it off (although it may not be available due to the 4G priority enabled according to the advice).

This setting works in tandem with the previous one, and when disconnected, it stops analyzing the connection speed that is sufficient (for the tasks performed).

And since the preferred network type excludes 5G connectivity, this feature is useless.

Conclusion

It will take you about an order of magnitude to complete all these recommendations. Moreover, notifications are the longest settings item, but it’s worth it.

It will also be useful to disable on your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco display ads and remove unnecessary junk in the form of useless applications – we talked in detail about disabling ads in system applications here, and we wrote about how to remove unnecessary but “non-removable” applications здесь.
