Fast charging has now become one of the main features sought after when buying a new smartphone, and Xiaomi has taken this desire as a signal to equip most of its devices with fast chargers that impress with their speed.
The current wired chargers of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices reach impressive power of 67, 90 and even 120 watts, but in fact their actual power is limited by the HyperOS system in order to extend battery life.
Many Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco users have repeatedly encountered situations where a smartphone needs to be charged as quickly as possible, even considering the possible harm to the “health” of the battery.
In order to activate the fastest charging mode of your device, go to Settings – Battery – Charging Options, where we switch the Wired charging Mode to Maximum speed.
Note that Xiaomi limits the maximum charging speed on all its devices so that the battery degrades minimally during charging and “maintains its good health.”
High-speed charging generates more heat, which affects battery performance over time, and the default limit will protect your device’s battery from excessive load with regular use.
