Van Le’s statement confirms that in a system as powerful as HyperOS, every major release must follow a rigorous, phased rollout to ensure stability and quality for millions of Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco users worldwide.
As the top manager clarified, in HyperOS 3 Global, Xiaomi developers will employ a sophisticated approach that skillfully combines manual checking for updates and random, automatic firmware distribution.
- Priority manual testing: Xiaomi first recruits a few users to test various models – they receive the HyperOS 3 update early to thoroughly check that everything works smoothly.
- Automatic distribution: Once manual testing gives the green light, HyperOS 3 releases will begin to be randomly distributed to a wider, though still limited, audience.
- Full release: After monitoring feedback and assuming no issues, HyperOS 3 firmware will be sent to all owners of each specific device.
Van Le confirms that for those within the initial release scope, the key to receiving the update is a simple manual check of their device.
According to Van Le, the process is simple but requires some ingenuity:
- Be quick to check: Users who upgrade quickly (i.e., manually check for the update soon after the batch rollout begins) will be the first in a randomly selected group to receive the HyperOS 3 update.
- Don’t get hung up: Those who missed the first wave don’t panic. The volume of updates will continue to increase over the next day or two, so you’ll eventually be among those receiving them.
- A daily check is sufficient: frequent testing at the same time is pointless. A quick manual check once or twice a day is sufficient.
