The deployment of the new HyperOS 2 system outside of China is slowly but surely continuing, and quite a few Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices have already received global HyperOS 2 updates, a list of which can be found here.
However, an even larger number of international versions of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices have not yet seen the new HyperOS 2. Among them, we can mention the rather popular Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro models, whose owners are persistently interested in when they will receive a stable HyperOS 2 build.
Will the Poco X5 Pro get the HyperOS 2 update?
Recall that the Poco X5 Pro was introduced almost two years ago – in February 2023 with MIUI firmware based on Android 12, and the manufacturer promised him two updates to the operating system.
That is, the Poco X5 Pro smartphone will receive a new HyperOS 2 software platform, but based on Android 14 OS (details), and not on the newer Android 15. By the way, we recently provided a list of Xiaomi devices that are “threatened” by HyperOS 2 on Android 14, and not on Android 15.
When will the Poco X5 Pro receive the HyperOS 2 update?
According to network informants, citing sources close to Xiaomi developers, the manufacturer will not rush to release global HyperOS 2 firmware based on Android 14 – their priority is updates from Android 15.
It is also specified that HyperOS 2 builds based on the Android 14 operating system will begin to be released in stable versions only by the end of the first quarter of 2025. In other words, it’s not worth waiting for them before the end of February.
