We have already published instructions on how to transfer a Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco smartphone to the Indonesian HyperOS firmware by replacing files (in more detail), and now we offer another option for switching to any regional HyperOS firmware with the same file substitution.
However, the meaning of these instructions is the same, but this method is, so to speak, a little easier to follow. By the way, it was tested at the very end of 2024 and everything worked, although Xiaomi developers continue to “tighten the screws” on this issue.
Switching to another HyperOS firmware with file substitution
1) Copy the 2 firmware versions to the Download folder of the phone (as you wish, via a PC, or download using your phone). One is the original one that is currently on your phone, the second one that you want to replace – just not below the release date of the original one.
2) From the Download folder, copy 2 firmware simultaneously to the root of the file system.
3) Rename the original firmware to 1.zip, we don’t touch the second one.
4) Close the Explorer, not just fold it, but close it with a swipe.
5) We clear the cache first, thenClear all data, go to Settings – Applications – All applications (Three dots – Show all applications) – Explorer, Update andUpdating components.
6) Launch File Explorer and give all permissions at the first launch, then close File Explorer without entering the file system – not just minimize, but close.
7) Launch Settings – About the phone – Click on the Xiaomi HyperOS logo, refuse updates via Wi-Fi, activate hidden settings by tapping on the Xiaomi HyperOS logo several times, select firmware 1 through three dots.zip in the root of the file system.
8) As the Update message appears, open the File Explorer and rename the native firmware to 2.zip, and the second firmware in 1.zip;
9) Click Update.
