After a relatively short delay, Xiaomi has started releasing stable HyperOS and HyperOS 2 updates, including Android security patches for January 2025.
The first global HyperOS builds with the January Android security patch, of which there are only a few, began to appear a little 10 days ago, but now the manufacturer promises to quickly expand the list of devices for which the corresponding updates are about to be released.
What is an Android security patch? This is software that fixes vulnerabilities identified in the Android OS and which Xiaomi developers release about once every 3 months, offering to install it with the next HyperOS update or separately.

That is, in the near future, a total of 16 global models of the manufacturer’s devices released under the Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco brands will receive Android security fixes.
The timely release of Android security patches proves that the company constantly cares about the convenience and safety of users.
