A couple of days ago, the Taiwanese company MediaTek unveiled its new MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor, designed for affordable smartphones. Well, like new…
In fact, the Dimensity 6400 became a slightly improved version of the Dimensity 6300 chip, which, in turn, was a clone of the single-chip Dimensity 6100+ system from 2023.
To be more precise, the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, which is manufactured using a 6nm process technology, includes a pair of Arm Cortex-A76 cores operating at a frequency of up to 2.5 GHz, and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores.
The main difference from the Dimensity 6300 is an increase in the maximum frequency by 0.1 GHz. The Arm Mali-G57 MC2 controller is responsible for the graphics without changes.
The Dimensity 6400 processor also supports LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.2 flash drives, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless modules, cameras with a resolution of up to 108 megapixels and has on board a 5G modem with download speeds of up to 3.3 Gbps.
