The Meizu brand has officially returned to the international market and is currently under the Xingji Meizu umbrella, having been acquired by automotive giant Geely.
Not only that, Meizu has already showcased an amazing line of smartphones, wearables, and smart home devices at an elaborate launch event held in Dubai.
Meizu’s strategic return to the market is an important turn of events for the crowded mobile technology industry, in which Xiaomi has dominated most international markets in recent years.
The launch in Dubai highlighted Meizu’s multi-pronged approach to competing with major established players such as Xiaomi through multiple device categories.:
- Smartphones: Meizu 21, Meizu Note 22, Meizu Mblu 21, Mblu 22 Pro and Meizu Lucky 08 with artificial intelligence support
- Wearable devices: StarV Air2 Smart Glasses and StarV Ring2 Smart Ring
- Automotive Technology: Flyme Auto integration into Geely vehicles

This multifunctional device portfolio reflects Meizu’s goal to compete directly with Xiaomi’s ecosystem philosophy, in which different product categories form an interconnected user experience.
By the way, we have already recently talked about the fact that Meizu is luring leading top managers from other companies to its staff. For example, Liu Yi, former vice president and head of e-commerce at Xiaomi China, now works at Xingji Meizu Group.
