Xiaomi has launched a very affordable, but very modest in hardware, Redmi A5 smartphone on the global market, which was previously announced quietly in India.
The new Redmi brand is equipped with a 6.88-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, a frame rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 450 nits, a leisurely Unisoc T7250 chip, 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 memory.
The new Redmi A5 smartphone has a 32-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera for self-portraits and video calls on the front.

It can also be noted that the Redmi A5 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an AI Face Unlock function, a dedicated microSD memory card slot, a Bluetooth 5.2 module and dual-band Wi-Fi, as well as a standard 3.5mm audio jack.
Out of the box, the Redmi A5 runs the “pure” Android 15 Go Edition operating system, which is designed for devices with frankly weak technical specifications.
A 5200 mAh rechargeable battery with 15W fast charging is responsible for powering the Redmi A5.
