The fairly well-known brand Black Shark, which can formally be attributed to Xiaomi, has released a new model of Black Shark OWS Open Headset headphones. According to the manufacturer, the novelty shows the best result in terms of sound quality and comfort.

Design
The new Black Shark OWS Open Headset headphones are made in an interesting design, in which the earphone should not be inserted into the ear and do not close the ear canal. The case of the headphones is made of matte high-quality plastic, resistant to scratches and fingerprints.
The weight of each earphone is only 12 grams and, accordingly, the device will not cause discomfort during use, plus the shape of the earphone is very ergonomic and has soft pads that will not put pressure on the ears.
The device is fixed by an ear hook and provides a snug fit during active workouts or movements.
The case of the device is quite compact, it is made in an oval shape, there is a glass window on top of the lid, and inside there are special recesses for charging headphones. The gadget was released in two basic colors: black and white.
Sound
The Black Shark OWS Open Headset headphones transmit sound very efficiently, it is balanced with an emphasis on medium and high frequencies. The device is especially suitable for listening to podcasts, audiobooks, and vocal-oriented music.
There are also low frequencies, but not as deep as in regular headphones. There may not be enough speaker power for modern club music.
The volume of the device is quite good. But in noisy places, you may want to turn up the volume. During a conversation, 2 built-in microphones with AI noise reduction will help to clearly convey the voice. The headphones are connected via Bluetooth 5.3, which provides a stable connection with minimal delay.
Autonomy
The headphones work at 50% volume – up to 6 hours, if in call mode, the headphones will work up to four hours. If charged from the case, the headphones can be played for up to 24 hours. Fast charging of 10 minutes gives up to 1.5 hours of playback. Charging takes place via a USB-C cable.
Functionality and management
The Black Shark OWS Open Headset is equipped with touch controls that allow you to switch tracks, adjust the volume, activate the voice assistant and answer calls. The feature set is not as fancy as we would like, given their price range.
Conclusions
OWS Open Headset are headphones with high-quality sound delivery and small functionality, but they are not suitable for fans of low bass and “louder”. Athletes in them will not feel discomfort during active training.
When walking in the city, the design allows you to hear the surrounding sounds. and also when talking or listening to music, others will hear all the sounds that will come from the headphones if the volume is too high.
Note that Black Shark AND Open Headset do not have their own equalizer setting application, which limits users in terms of setting their priorities.
