This fall, the new flagship smartphones Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro will be released, which will offer all the best in the smartphone industry, and yesterday insiders revealed the secrets of pre-production copies of the basic Xiaomi 16 model.
The tested Xiaomi 16 prototypes feature a 6.3-inch flat OLED panel with thin bezels, an engineering sample of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, as well as a 6,500 mAh fast-charging battery of unknown capacity.
The Xiaomi 15 main camera module set also includes a vertical TV speaker on a small sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels, complemented by a floating lens for macro shooting, a 50-megapixel “shirik” and a 50-megapixel main module on an unnamed new image sensor with the same dimensions – 1/1.3″.

Another detail worth paying attention to is the design. A recent leak of renders shows a two-tone back panel for Xiaomi 16, which is somewhat unusual for the manufacturer. However, this is an unofficial image, and it is still unknown what the Xiaomi 16 will actually be.
As expected, Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro out of the box will run on the latest proprietary HyperOS 3.0 platform, built on at least the latest Android 16 operating system (details).
The release date of Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro is currently unknown, but since Qualcomm will officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at the end of September, do not be surprised if the Xiaomi 16 series will also be released before the end of this month.
