Apple has added a graphene cooling system to the new iPhone 16 Pro models, which helps the device dissipate heat better and, in turn, ensures more stable operation.
The Apple A18 Pro chipset itself is also more productive than its predecessor from last year, but how does its performance and stability compare to flagship Android devices with advanced heat dissipation systems?
To find out, the authors of one of the bourgeois YouTube channels launched Genshin Impact and other heavy games on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, some previous iPhone models and some Android flagships based on last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors from Qualcomm and Dimensity 9300+ from Taiwanese MediaTek.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max gained a solid advantage over the iPhone 15 Pro Max, however, the Red Magic 9S Pro, which was released in July this year with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip on board, managed to surpass Apple’s latest iPhone 16 Pro Max in the Genshin Impact game. It is important to note that the Red Magic 9S Pro is equipped with an active cooling system.
To be more precise, the Apple A18 Pro running in the iPhone 16 Pro Max showed 55.5 frames per second in Genshin Impact, while the Red Magic 9S Pro based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 provides an average of 59.9 frames per second. Although the difference may not seem too much, the gameplay on the Red Magic 9S Pro was significantly more stable.
It is noteworthy that not all Android devices with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that participated in the experiment showed the same results. For example, Xiaomi 14 Pro, which is also equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, was able to show an average result of 38.9 frames per second. It also hints at the difference in the heat dissipation system and performance settings.
