Back in November last year, Xiaomi developers began the slow release of global updates to HyperOS 2, although so far not all Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco models have received updates – a list of all released builds can be found here.

In any case, there are already a lot of not very good reviews from owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices who received the first HyperOS 2 Global firmware on their devices. We will talk about these bugs in this article.

Problems in Xiaomi HyperOS 2 Global

1. The smartphone is slowing down. Traditionally, for major updates to MIUI and HyperOS, users complain that their device is frankly hanging, freezing, and generally hopelessly obtuse.

I filled in the update. The phone has become dull, especially in games. The desktop shortcuts have shrunk without being able to zoom in. I do not recommend rushing to install it.

Most of these complaints about the new HyperOS 2 come from owners of Redmi numbered models, such as the Redmi 12 4G, and devices of the Redmi Note line – for example, the Redmi Note 13 4G NFC.

2. Small application icons. Also, people who have received the global HyperOS 2 build on their Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco say that the application icons have become noticeably smaller and it is impossible to configure this in the system settings.

Firstly, the phone has become blunt compared to the first version. The second point is that, with my poor eyesight, large desktop icons were convenient for me. The ability to resize icons was removed from this version.

Users of most of the manufacturer’s devices that have been upgraded to HyperOS 2 Global complain about this, both budget models and mid-range devices, as well as sub-flagship smartphones with new flagships.

3. Inconvenient desktop grids. In addition to the introduction of small icons in the HyperOS 2 firmware, Xiaomi specialists decided to remove the popular desktop grids, leaving two not the most convenient options.

The convenient grid of the desktop was also removed, leaving only 2 options – 6×4 and even denser. And there was also some effect when switching screens, for example, from the lock screen to the desktop, the previous screen does not immediately turn off, somehow with a delay of 1-2 seconds and overlapping one on top of the other.

This also affected almost all Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices that have received global HyperOS 2 updates.

На что жалуются владельцы Xiaomi, получившие HyperOS 2?

Of course, these are not all the “charms” that HyperOS 2 users have encountered, but judging by the feedback, they are not as widespread as the problems listed above.

Hello everyone, the Xiaomi 14 phone, the theme is this, after updating to Hyper 2.0, the fingerprint and graphic key became clearly buggy. That is, when you enter the password, the phone will not unlock! Who has the same story?

By the way, the company’s developers publish their “HyperOS Optimization Reports” on a weekly basis, which are a list of bugs discovered by users in the global HyperOS firmware and which we collect here.
