Increasingly, owners of Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones are asking questions about why wireless headphones turn off on their own, while everything is set up properly in HyperOS.

Reasons for disabling wireless headphones on Xiaomi

First of all, there are two main reasons why the headphones on your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco turn off by themselves – this is a battery malfunction or lack of charge, as well as incorrect operation of the Bluetooth connection.

Wireless headphones can disconnect from a smartphone when there is simply not enough charge, which is common. However, if this happens frequently, disconnections may indicate battery failure and you can’t do without contacting a service center.

Failure of the Bluetooth connection can occur for various reasons – outdated headphone firmware, outdated drivers, errors in the HyperOS system, or exposure to power saving mode.

If the headphones on your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco are constantly turned off for one of the above reasons, you can try to solve the problem yourself.

Checking the power saving mode

First of all, let’s try to set a balanced power saving mode, for which we go to SettingsBatteryCurrent modeBalanced.

Then we restart the smartphone and if the problem with disconnecting the headphones is related to the previously set power consumption mode, it will immediately be corrected and the headset will start working correctly.

Headphone Firmware Update

It happens that the problem of turning off Bluetooth headphones on your own is related to an outdated version of their firmware and to fix this “trouble” you need to update it.

You can do this through the headphone app.

If there is no recent firmware update, or there is no special application for your Bluetooth headphones, we simply skip this point.

Updating Bluetooth drivers

It is possible that the headphones are disconnected from your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco due to outdated drivers for the Bluetooth module.

To update them, go to SettingsBluetooth and if your smartphone offers a Bluetooth update, be sure to install it.

After completing these steps, you need to restart your smartphone for the changes to take effect, but if this does not help or there is simply no update, you can turn to a cardinal method of solving the problem.

Resetting headphones to factory settings

To still solve the problem that causes wireless headphones to connect and disconnect on your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco by themselves, you can try resetting the headphones to factory settings.

Open the Bluetooth Settings, select headphones here and click the Disable or Forget device button.

Next, we put the headphones in the case and open it after a few seconds. Press and hold the button located on the case body until the indicator starts flashing. After that, you can reconnect the headphones to your smartphone.

If the above methods did not lead to a positive result, try checking the functionality of the Bluetooth headphones with another device.

This way you will understand whether the problem is a result of a malfunction of the headphones themselves or a problem in the smartphone. If the headphones are working correctly with another phone, it means that the problem of disabling them in the smartphone is worth resetting the network settings or completely reset the device to factory settings.
