Interesting information was recently shared by a trustworthy Polish insider Kacper Skrzypek, who got his hands on the global version of the latest Xiaomi Mix Flip clamshell (announcement) with no less global Xiaomi HyperOS firmware on board.
According to a source on his page on the banned social network X in Russia, the Xiaomi Mix Flip smartphone in the international version has received a global HyperOS build, which features a proprietary Mi dialer with call recording support.
Xiaomi Mix Flip has a Xiaomi branded dialer (HyperOS Dialer) even in the standard global firmware, which supports call recording.
However, the insider clarifies that the ability to record calls is disabled by default for Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Poland and some other countries, but it is easily enabled by simply changing the device’s region.
By the way, the decision to replace the MIUI/HyperOS dialer with a Google analog, which was made several years ago, is not a “wishlist” of Xiaomi, but a requirement of both Google itself and the legislation of countries where smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer are sold.
