Xiaomi quietly launched Russian sales of the very affordable Redmi A5 smartphone, which was officially introduced by the sponsored Redmi brand in April of this year (details).
The budget Redmi A5 simultaneously appeared on the shelves of many Russian retailers, including Xiaomi Store, M.Video-Eldorado, Citylink, Technopark MegaFon, Beeline, MTS, and is offered at the following prices:
- Redmi A5 version 3/64 GB – 6490 rubles
- Redmi A5 version 4/128 GB – 7990 rubles
However, the first buyers of the Redmi A5 in Russia will receive a discount of 1,000 and 500 rubles, respectively. That is, a smartphone in the 3/64 GB version will cost 5490 rubles, and for the 4/128 GB version you will need to pay 7490 rubles.

Recall that the Redmi A5 was equipped with a 6.88-inch IPS screen with HD+ resolution, a frame rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 450 nits, a Unisoc T7250 processor, LPDDR4X RAM, eMMC 5.1 flash drives, a 32-megapixel camera, and a 5200 mAh battery with support for 15-watt charging.
