This fall, Xiaomi will introduce a new version of its proprietary HyperOS 3 software platform, which may also be released as HyperOS 26, and yesterday the manufacturer clarified the list of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones that will not receive HyperOS 3.
The HyperOS development team seems to have drawn a very clear line in their catalog, marking a clear boundary between the models that will be able to upgrade to this new version and those that will cease to be supported.
It’s worth noting here that HyperOS 3 won’t be a simple cosmetic upgrade-the company seems to be focused on improving system performance, reducing power consumption, and maximizing artificial intelligence capabilities in everyday tasks.

These models, in addition to not receiving HyperOS 3, will mark the boundary between those that will not be updated and those that will, that is, the Xiaomi 12 family, with the exception of Xiaomi 12X, will receive HyperOS 3, as well as the entire Redmi 12 and Redmi Note 12 series.
