As specified, the company’s developers are already testing DeepSeek-R1 inside their Super XiaoAI intelligent assistant. This AI tool will improve automation and provide users with more reasonable answers, but it appears that it will only appear in Chinese HyperOS firmware.
In any case, at an early stage of testing, HyperOS 2 users gained access to new AI features. They could activate Super XiaoAI with simple voice commands such as Open Deep Thinking or Open DeepSeek.
Moreover, Xiaomi has developed a system for working with both voice and text, which makes it more flexible for different users. AI was useful for coding, writing, and problem solving. This was a big step forward in Xiaomi’s AI technology.
Thanks to DeepSeek AI, Xiaomi is now competing with such big names in the field of artificial intelligence as ChatGPT from OpenAI, Gemini from Google and Pangu AI from Huawei.
Additionally, Xiaomi has confirmed that more than 25 devices will support Super XiaoAI with DeepSeek AI integration. These include:

It should be noted that Xiaomi is not the only company that is actively adding AI to smartphones. Other brands such as Huawei, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, Meizu, Lenovo and ZTE Nubia are also implementing DeepSeek AI into their devices.
