Xiaomi developers have started testing major updates to HyperOS 2.3, which are based on Android 16, will be released only for devices compatible with the new OS and will be a major milestone in the company’s development.
The testing phase of HyperOS 2.3 with Android 16 is initially open to users of the basic Xiaomi 15 model (overview) in China and outside China, reflecting Xiaomi’s focus on providing proprietary software on the global market.
In particular, the following HyperOS 2.3 test firmware based on Android 16 has been released for Xiaomi 15:
- OS2.0.300.1.WOCMIXM (Global)
- OS2.0.300.1.WOCEUXM (EEA)
- OS2.0.300.1.WOCCNXM (China)
Industry reports show that HyperOS 2.3 will begin to be distributed to other compatible devices closer to the end of June 2025, and Xiaomi specialists will have enough time for testing to ensure the stability of updates.
HyperOS 2.3 will largely include features and improvements from Android 16. Unlike Xiaomi’s usual inclusion of proprietary settings in its releases, the update seems to focus specifically on integrating Android 16 into the proprietary shell.
