Today, as expected, Xiaomi has introduced a new version of its proprietary HyperOS 2 software platform, which also goes by the names HyperOS V2 and HyperOS 2.0. At the same time, the new system contains a considerable number of improvements and innovations.

The presentation of Xiaomi HyperOS 2 talked about the “breakthrough experience update” embedded in the original HyperOS 1.0, as well as huge improvements in key areas – performance, storage management, and energy efficiency.

Heterogeneous rendering technology

Xiaomi developers have managed to improve the rendering of natural gradient blur by 12 times, making the system animation and user interface transitions of the new HyperOS smoother than ever, and the time required for such calculations has decreased by 92%, thereby promising faster image processing.

New storage management

The HyperOS 2 system has introduced the “New Storage Management 2.0” technology, which provides more intelligent and efficient ways to process data. This feature further enhances the platform’s memory management capabilities, especially in cases of continuous application startup and multitasking.

Cascade bandwidth technology

Other revolutionary features of HyperOS 2 include what is called “cascaded bandwidth technology,” which dynamically manages network resources by prioritizing bandwidth according to application requirements.

This ensures faster data transfer, lower connection latency, and efficiency in high-consumption applications and services such as gaming or streaming on smart TVs.

Proprietary microarchitecture scheduler

The microarchitecture scheduler, independently developed by Xiaomi and introduced in HyperOS 2, aims to dynamically optimize the allocation of resources between the central and GPU.

This planning technology dynamically adjusts to the requirements of various applications, thereby increasing both productivity and energy efficiency.

Power consumption for high-load tasks, such as heavy games, can be effectively controlled by the scheduler in individual frames, effectively balancing performance and battery life.

Increase the productivity of the entire ecosystem

HyperOS 2 with HyperConnect technology also brings improved performance to the entire ecosystem, and it’s not just about smartphones, but also about other Xiaomi devices — TVs, tablets, and smartwatches, which will also receive HyperOS 2.

But for now, with the improvements made in HyperOS 2, consistency across the board in the Xiaomi ecosystem will be noticeably better and every device will offer uninterrupted performance and connectivity.
