Xiaomi‘s new budget tablet has already been certified in Europe, India, Singapore, the UAE and the USA, which apparently paves the way for its simultaneous global launch.
The Redmi Pad 2 with the 25040RP0AG and 2505DRP06G models has appeared in the databases of key regulators around the world, and the following is already known for sure about the new Redmi brand:
- Support dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz)
- Bluetooth module of unspecified version
- Pre-installed HyperOS 2.1 based on Android 15
- Single rear camera in an oval module
- Stereo Speakers
The broad certification of the Redmi Pad 2 tablet suggests that Xiaomi is preparing a simultaneous worldwide release and even several regional variants have been spotted.:
- Global model (suffix “G”)
- Indian version (suffix “I”)
- UAE edition (suffix “A/E”)
The prefix “2504” in the model number indicates the launch in April 2025, which corresponds to Xiaomi’s usual nomenclature, which includes the launch time.
Although the full specifications remain under wraps, the Redmi Pad 2 is expected to follow in Xiaomi’s footsteps by offering multifunction devices at budget prices. One aspect that has attracted interest is the inclusion of HyperOS 2.1, Xiaomi’s latest software.
