The other day, we already wrote that Xiaomi, looking at Apple, which decided to immediately switch from iOS 19 to iOS 26, linking the version number to the calendar year, may do the same after HyperOS 2 and switch to HyperOS 26, leaving the release of HyperOS 3 unreleased (details).
Today, several other Chinese network resources have published the same rumors, which confidently claim that HyperOS 26 will be released instead of HyperOS 3, although there will be no differences between them other than the number.

Although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed such a move, the report claims that the company still plans to introduce a new naming scheme for its proprietary software platform, tied to the year, which is likely to avoid confusion and provide greater clarity about the release dates.
The purpose of Xiaomi’s solution, apparently, is to offer a more unified and easy-to-use naming system that will help users quickly identify the latest version.
P.S. We collect all the most interesting information about the new version of the HyperOS 3 software platform here, and all the most interesting news about HyperOS can be found in this section.
