Back in August of this year, the first information appeared that Xiaomi was developing its own processor for smartphones, and now additional data has appeared on this issue.
According to network sources, Xiaomi’s proprietary single-chip system will include a top-end MediaTek T90 5G modem that provides decent download and data transfer speeds.
This modem has many advantages, among which are the following:
- Enhanced carrier aggregation and increased joint stability.
- Compatible with a wide range of 5G bands for ease of use worldwide.
- Intelligent resource allocation to increase productivity with minimal energy consumption.
It is also expected that the new SoC from Xiaomi will be produced using the advanced 3nm process technology at TSMC factories. These technological standards are the most advanced and offer:
- Increased efficiency: the processor will consume less energy compared to the 5nm and 4nm processes.
- High Performance: High computing power for complex tasks such as AI computing, gaming, and multitasking.
- Compact size: The 3nm process technology also helps to place more components in a single chip on much smaller areas and provide improved cooling.
Through the use of TSMC’s most advanced technologies, Xiaomi’s on-chip system is expected to provide significant increases in energy efficiency and, more importantly, computing power, allowing it to truly compete with Qualcomm of the United States and MediaTek of Taiwan.
There are also rumors that the first new Xiaomi chipset will be tried on by smartphones of the Xiaomi 15S line, which is scheduled for release in 2025. This series is supposed to be an iterative update of the Xiaomi 15 series, offering improved performance, more connectivity options, and longer battery life.
