In the test builds of HyperOS Experience Enhanced Beta, which, in fact, is still the same HyperOS 1.0, on which the innovations intended for the future HyperOS 2.0 are honed, an unpleasant change has been noticed – a rather useful feature that appeared in the proprietary MIUI firmware 10 years ago has disappeared.
We are talking about hiding the time in the status bar if the clock widget is installed on the desktop. Such duplication of time information did not look very logical, and placing the clock in the status bar quite often led to incorrect display of notification icons.
According to insiders, Xiaomi developers have removed this feature due to complaints from users who switched to Xiaomi devices from other manufacturers – they are simply confused by the lack of watches that they are used to seeing on their previous devices.
However, so far all this is being tested in the form of beta versions of HyperOS Experience Enhanced Beta, and it is quite possible that Xiaomi will make this feature optional or implement its counterpart in some other way.
