Xiaomi today regretfully announced that the rather popular AI Portrait feature included in HyperOS 2 will be completely disabled from April 1, 2025.
Curiously, at the official presentation of HyperOS 2, considerable attention was paid to the capabilities of the AI Portrait function, and why Xiaomi decided to remove it is not entirely clear.
However, it is clarified that the withdrawal of this function is aimed at ensuring the confidentiality and security of user data, but it is not clear which way they intersect.

As reported, the following models will lose the AI Portrait functionality:
- Xiaomi 14 Ultra
- Xiaomi 14
- Xiaomi 14T Pro
- Xiaomi 14T
- Xiaomi Mix Flip
- Poco F6 Pro
- Poco F6
Owners of Xiaomi devices that have the AI Portrait option located in the AI portrait section of the Gallery need to save the portraits created using AI in separate local folders in advance.
Starting from the beginning of April, all the images that were posted in the AI portrait section, as well as this section itself, will be deleted.
