Not all Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices have received global HyperOS 2 updates, including a security patch for March 2025, and April patches are on the way.
The other day in this article we talked in detail about what the Android security patch for April 2025 will bring to devices, and today the first global build of HyperOS 2, including this patch, was released.
Interestingly, we are not talking about firmware for any of the flagship models, but about the latest global HyperOS 2 build under OS2.0.5.0.VMXMIXM for the modest Redmi 12 device.
When will the update appear on other models?
Following Xiaomi’s usual pattern of distributing security patches, we should see the April 2025 release of the security patch for other devices from the manufacturer in the following sequence:
- Current flagships (Xiaomi 15 series) next week
- The flagships of the previous generation (Xiaomi line 14) will be updated a little later
- Mid-range devices (recent models of the Redmi Note family) for the next 2-3 weeks
- The remaining models – by the end of April – in early May
