Xiaomi has announced that the release of the latest HyperOS and HyperOS 2 updates for Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices will be suspended until the end of this week.
The short-term break falls on the Qingming Holiday, a major Chinese traditional holiday when most companies in China, such as Xiaomi’s headquarters, scale back operations to give their employees some time for family.
Qingming Holiday, also known as Memorial Day, is a Chinese tradition that usually falls in early April. Most Chinese firms operate with minimal staff, if at all, at this time to honor the cultural significance of this day.
Qingming means “festival of pure light” is a traditional Chinese holiday commemorating the dead, which is celebrated on the 104th day after the winter solstice (the 15th day after the vernal equinox). On this day, Chinese people go out into nature to enjoy the coming of spring and visit the graves of their ancestors.

Xiaomi assured users that all the feedback and suggestions received recently will be taken into account, and as soon as the break ends, the release of HyperOS builds will continue.
- There will be no HyperOS firmware testing this week.
- The regular update schedule will resume after the Qingming Holiday.
- All user reviews will be processed.
The Xiaomi team concluded its statement with holiday greetings, demonstrating the company’s cultural heritage and respect for traditions, even though it is a global technology giant.
