A little over a week ago, it became known that Xiaomi developers have started internal testing of HyperOS 2 updates based on the latest Android 16 operating system (details), and now additional information has appeared about this.
Earlier, the following HyperOS 2 builds on Android 16 were tested:
- OS2.0.250220.1.WOCCNXM.PRE for Xiaomi 15
- OS2.0.250220.1.WOBCNXM.PRE for Xiaomi 15 Pro
- OS2.0.250220.1.WOYCNXM.PRE for Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro
Now the following firmware versions have joined them.:
- OS2.0.250226.1.WOCMIXM.PRE for Xiaomi 15
- OS2.0.250227.1.WNNMIXM.PRE for Xiaomi 14T Pro
That is, it would be logical to assume that the owners of the top smartphones Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, Xiaomi 14T Pro and at least the top tablet Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will be the first to test the new version of Android as part of HyperOS 2.
It should be noted here that the future Android 16 OS for Xiaomi devices will become the base for the new version of the proprietary HyperOS 3 firmware, and those devices that will receive it later are named in this material. In the meantime, Android 16 is being tested with the current HyperOS 2.
The early testing of Android 16 by Xiaomi is a reflection of the company’s efforts to provide timely updates for its premium devices.
