The other day, Xiaomi talked about its immediate plans to improve the proprietary Camera application and its algorithms. Moreover, some of the innovations have already appeared in Camera 6.0 and Camera 6.1, which should be included in the HyperOS 2.2 firmware, but they can already be found online and installed.
To be more precise, Miao Lei, who holds the post of deputy head of the camera department of Xiaomi Group, answered questions from fans of the brand related to camera operation in Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices.
As a result, the key areas in which Xiaomi developers will work have been identified in order to bring the photo capabilities of Xiaomi devices to a new level.:
- Accelerating work on new watermark styles that will be added to the Camera app in the second half of this year. It’s not entirely clear why the emphasis is on such innovations, but okay.
- For dynamic photos (Live Photos), an expanded set of film styles will be available and the ability to edit them while preserving animation will be added.
- The problem with dynamic images will be solved when they capture gestures with raising and lowering the device before and after the moment of shooting.
- The number of camera presets will noticeably expand, and their interface will be redesigned to improve their usability.
- The problem is solved due to the fact that it was impossible to quickly launch the camera application when playing audio.
- The AI eraser tool, which, by the way, has disappeared from the HyperOS 2 firmware for a number of smartphones, will soon lose the problem with green stripes and various kinds of color defects.
- Xiaomi will also fix other typical problems with the Camera app – small freezes when shooting, incorrect color shades, “crooked” effects in portrait mode, etc.
