Xiaomi has released another novelty – the Whole House Router Set RD01 + RD02, which includes a router with support for the high-speed Wi-Fi 6 standard.
Now such devices are gaining popularity, they ensure uninterrupted operation of the Internet both in work organizations and at home. Such devices are capable of transmitting good signal quality through walls and into the farthest corners of rooms.

Design
Two routers are included in the package. Main RD01 and auxiliary RD02. The size of the main router is 89.5 x 89.5 x 213.5 mm, the second router is smaller in height – 153.7 mm. Both designs are equipped with four built-in antennas that enhance the network signal.
The main router is packed with an aggregation of LAN ports, four gigabit Ethernet ports with dual WAN support, and an intelligent automatic connection type detection system, which means that it can automatically reconnect between wired and wireless channels with stable connectivity.
As promised by the manufacturer, the Whole House Router Set RD01 + RD02 will provide up to 574 Mbit/s in the 2.4GHz band and up to 2402 Mbit/s at 5 GHz. When watching 4K videos, it is possible to use 160 MHz technology, which will significantly increase the bandwidth of the system compared to conventional channels.
Functionality and features
Thanks to the support of proprietary Mesh technology, the RD01 and RD02 devices can be automatically combined into a single network and expand the coverage area without unnecessary manual settings. Mesh technology is compatible with other devices of the same brand, which allows users the flexibility to build a network over a large area.
These routers support the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which is basically the norm today, but recently new models have been switching to Wi-Fi 7. In general, the 6th generation of Wi-Fi provides a more stable connection, there are no interruptions with it and the speed is higher when using several devices simultaneously.
The design was also equipped with a Bluetooth Mesh gateway with 256Mb of memory. Therefore, it is possible to connect many smart devices to routers. Plus, there is support for NFC-pairing in one touch. And there is voice control in the arsenal.
Safety
The Whole House Router Set RD01 + RD02 has its own Xiaomi Home app where you can activate parental controls. The devices are also equipped with a built-in gateway firewall, which provides multi-level protection of the home network. The system performs real-time monitoring and identifies possible threats.
